Rating:

The music of Wasi Ka Nanara is indigenous to the Solomon Islands, especially on the island of Malaita. One never sees women in the group, for the music and dance is exclusively the business of men. Second Effort

Wasi Ka Nanara's music is always astonishing and full of authenticity, they manage to get an amazingly orchestral sound out of some simple wooden tubes.

Besi
A delightful surprise , sounds almost Andean but the percussion tells it's definitely Polynesian.

It's Melanesian
So NOT Polynesian. This is the deep south Pacific, a place without kings and few chiefs, highly egalitarian, with very different political, economic, and ritual organization from Polynesia. And, with very very different artistic traditions. I lived in the Solomon for several years, before living in Hawaii. Believe me, the musical traditions are quite different.
